Description

Modular design makes the EasyStand Evolv the most versatile standing frame available. The base unit is functional for many users, however when more support is needed a wide variety of positioning options can be added to accommodate the most involved users.

Notable Features

Modular
The EasyStand Evolv is the most modular stander available. With over 60 options and configurations, each unit can be built specifically for an individual or facility. These options, that would normally be custom modifications, allow a stander to be configured for specific needs.

Positioning
The optimal standing position has been perfected in the Evolv standing frame. By strategically placing the pivot points of the stander in line with the body’s natural pivot points, options like the hip supports, lateral supports, and head support remain in place from sitting to standing, minimizing shear. When positioned correctly, the contoured seat provides a maximum over-center stretch for various body types.The Evolv also accommodates for hip and knee contractures through proper positioning of the footplates and optional independent knee pads.

Accessibility & Independence
The Evolv’s open base makes independent transfers easier. A larger Transfer Seat or Rotating Seat can also be added to make transfers more manageable. To make standing pivot or lift assist transfers easier, an optional Swing-Away Front or Removable Back can be added. The user can independently achieve the standing position with the manual hydraulic actuator or optional push-button Pow’r Up Lift.

Safety & Convenience
The Evolv standing frame provides a safe and supportive transition to standing. It allows the user to stand in three easy steps – adjust, transfer, and pump up. Both caregivers and users are more comfortable with the Evolv because of the safe and easy lateral transfer and supportive transition to standing.

TransferringTransfers are an issue for wheelchair users. Like many things, transferring gets easier with practice. With assisted transfers, it is always a good idea to review the transfer strategy with the client before transferring, and talk them through the steps as they are happening. This will help reduce anxiety for the person being transferred. There are many different methods of transferring into the EasyStand Evolv stander, whether you transfer independently or need assistance. There are also a variety of options that can be added to the Evolv to help make your method of transferring more manageable.

Independent Transfer:
A person with paraplegia or those with good upper-body strength can do a lateral transfer from their wheelchair to the seat of the stander. The Evolv’s base is designed so a wheelchair can be positioned at any angle from parallel to 90 degrees against the edge of the Evolv seat (the front wheelchair caster can even come underneath the front corner of the seat). The kneepads flip up and out of the way allowing sufficient room to position legs and feet.

Options that can help an independent transfer: Sliding board, Transfer Seat, Shadow Tray

Stand Pivot Transfer: A caregiver can assist a patient into the stander using a stand pivot transfer. A caregiver assists a person out of their wheelchair and into a standing position, then turns or pivots, and sits the person down on the seat of the stander.

Transfer Seat: To make lateral transfers easier, the wider Transfer Seat can be added to the Evolv providing a larger surface. The Transfer Seat acts like a built-in transfer board, and in some cases, can replace the need for a transfer board.

Swing-Away Front: The H-Frame style front allows one side of the table to swing away, making room for the caregiver/aid to position their body in front of the seat for an easier standing pivot or patient lift transfer.

Rotating Seat: The Rotating Seat has a padded disk embedded in the seat that reduces shear while swinging the user’s legs into place. It rotates 90 degrees and locks into place.

Removable Back: When transferring into the EasyStand with a patient lift from the rear of the unit, a removable back is handy. Two knobs quickly remove and re-attach the back.

Shadow Tray: When the Shadow Tray is flipped up, it creates more space near the front of the seat for an assisted transfer or independent transfer, especially when combined with the Swing-Away Front. The Shadow Tray and knee pads flip out of the way for an easy transfer.
