3 Position

3 Position Lift Chair models recline all the way, similar to a standard recliner. These will not go flat for sleeping, but will allow your legs to be stretched out in comfort. The chair and foot-rest open and close at the same time using the remote control. 3 position lifting chairs will stop at any point along the line of travel.

What is a 3 position lift chair?

3 position lift chairs are a popular choice. They recline to an "almost" flat position. It is possible to nap in this chair, but an infinite position chair reclines all the way, to a more ideal full sleeping position. Knowing how much time you will spend using your lift chair will help you to determine which is the right type for you.

A 3 position lift chair is right for you if you want additional recliner positions. 3 position chairs will recline to an almost full recline, ideal for relaxing and napping. Similar to 2 position chairs, 3 position chairs do have an ottoman. It operates on the same motor as the recliner. This means that as the chair reclines, the ottoman will lift up. You cannot operate the ottoman separately. If you would like the ottoman and the recline function to work independently of one another, then read about infinite position lift chairs.

One thing to point out is that even though 3 position lift chairs are called "3 position" it doesn't mean there are only three positions. When you press the recline button on the hand control, you can stop reclining at any time, whenever it is most comfortable for you.
